Song: Star, Dave, The Thumb and The Horror
Star, Dave, Thumb, and The Horror
Verse:
(F# minor groove)
Dave's middle aged
Star's 20-something, single
He's a software pirate
She's a part-time ninja.
He studies unix
at a school in East Brooklyn.
She uses chopsticks
for reasons I can't mention.
Chorus:
(A/E/F#m)
Together they fight crime, liars, and crooks.
He does soduku and she reads gardening books.
Dave's the brain and Star's the brawn.
I wrote the lyrics, but this is their song.
Bridge:
(F#m/A/Bm/E/F/F#m)
One day a villian
came maiming and killing
through southern Oklahoma.
Making sausages of savages
with spicy sauces from cabbages,
everyone called him "The Horror".
Too soon The Horror
pulled up in Tulsa
in a lowered '76 caddy
with his henchman named Thumb
who carried a knife but no gun
on burned-out brakes and a failing tranny.
Verse:
In a dusty pre-fab home
on a dead end street
at the edge of town--
no handprints in the concrete--
Star and Dave finally met
the Horror and the Thumb.
Star took the muscle,
while Dave chased the boss
into the basement.
The Thumb knew he was lost,
and with a quick snikt
of Star's knife, he succumbed.
So too went the Horror,
and Star couldn't believe her eyes.
"How'd you do it?" she asked and he answered:
"I had 50 cents and every Horror has its price."
Chorus:
Together they fight crime, liars, and crooks.
He does soduku and she reads gardening books.
Dave's the brain and Star's the brawn.
I wrote the lyrics, but this is their song.
I wrote the lyrics, but this is their song.

Written during the recent Eels concert. Ridiculous to the Max! And please everyone (i.e. Kate), don't chap my hide for the dangling modifier.
